Live For Scandals

Crapola!

I’m no doctor, but I’ve been with myself long enough to know that my body is going thru something.

Yes, it is musim pancaroba in Indo - a transitional season from dry to rainy - when many people gets the viral cold. And yes, I think I might have been infected with the stupid virus. Yes, doctor, I took that vitamin C and have been drinking lotsa water.

But, this annoying flu is not that important compared to my other symptoms:

First - this phrase "xoxo, you know you love me!" has been vicariously playing in my head over and over - with THAT TONE.

Second - I spent hours hunting down ways to watch what I wanna watch. Each and every single episode.

Third - I didn’t give up easily when I couldn’t find what I wanted. Surprisingly, I finally found it. All of them. Each and every single episode up to date.

Fourth - With jealousy, I repeated those scenes where they showed their stylish outfits. I mean, those girls are wearing uniforms - how can they still find a way to dress up? Gosh, I wish I could wear those beautiful jackets and coats when I was in high school!

Five - I secretly hoped there would be another *gasp* cat-fight! a happy ending one though~ ;)

Six - I cannot wait for Wednesday to come. Well, I mean Thursday in Indo - so that I can watch the new episode from my slingplayer.  (thanks to my hunny bun for getting me set up!)

Seven - I should be sleeping now because of the medicine, instead I’m writing this post.

Eight - I’m in love with this Dan character - haha!

And YOU have no idea what I’m talking about if you don’t watch the Gossip Girl. It’s a new series - just started this fall in CW every Wednesday at 9 PM Pacific time.

Well, the point is that *cough* I’m kinda obsessed with this show.

It’s about high school students, specifically private high school students, more specifically those rich spoiled private high school students in NYC who have it all - well at least in a nut shell. Their parents are so loaded - they don’t have to worry about a thing. They burn money just like that. They don’t even have to think or work hard to get to the university that they want (read: need) to go to - because the parents will always have a "way" to make that happen - or so it seems. All they care about is how to spend the money they’ve got in their thousands of dollars trust funds and how to be the most popular one at school.

So, how superficial does that sound to you? From 0 to 10, I gave it a 20 - I thought this show is for those shallow minded materialistic immature people. WRONG! Plus, now that I think about it - I’m ashamed on how judgmental I was….

Although wrapped in such a dreamy, rich, high class, jet setter, socialite world - where who’s got to be invited to the "Kiss on The Lips" party is so important *rolling my eyes a little* - there is definitely waayyyy more to it. After all, it’s a tale about human being - emotion - feeling - social interactions - family - and all of the dramas that come in life.

It "teaches" you forgiveness.

It reminds you how important a family is.

It makes you think twice before you blindly hope that you were the beautiful perfect daughter/son of a hella rich family - because guess what people, everyone has their own problem.

It’s a story about those who act and look strong, but they actually are starving for love, friends, sincerely loving parents and real food!

Let me stop here before I start spoiling the beans. Bottom line is it’s a pretty addictive series.  I’m seriously considering to go to the bookstore and get the complete novel series of Gossip Girl (which the show is based on) to find out whether the author reveals who the heck is this gossip girl in the end.

Well, all I know is that she definitely lives for scandals!

~ooh..I think that she knows~ (Justin Timberlake’s song is playing on the background)

and….

*spotted. starlet - replaying episode 2 again!*

Kudeta Bali

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

CK and her friend - Mutia took us to this fabulous lounge in Seminyak Bali: Kudeta aka KDT.

Once we stepped inside the place, we got this really wonderful vibes. They use black, red, and some other masculine color tones very well for the interior. It’s strong yet it felt COOL. The brand was definitely thought very well!

They have restaurant (open from 8 AM - I heard the breakfast is awesome), outdoor dancing floor (did I see this right?), lounge area, and outdoor seatings.

We passed the restaurant area and OH-MY-GOSH there it was - a breathtaking view!  We were just a few meters from the beach. It was at night and KDT cleverly put a light on the beach.

That simple touch makes all the difference! The sand was silvery white painted perfectly with the dark blue ocean and the deep blue sky. It was a beauty! And romantic. If I didn’t have any self control, probably would have skinny dipped right there and then. (No - don’t dare to imagine :P)

We went into the lounge area with a determination to get drunk *wink*… but then the girls ended up with non-alcoholic drinks - what an angel!

We were too full from dinner, so drinks were great. Plus point for KDT - not only because of their great selection of music - but because they played them at the right volume. You know most of the time you went to clubs and bars and you have to yell at each other right on each other’s ears cuz you can’t hear a thing. Well, KDT is an ideal place to have a long intimate discussion. Y’all don’t havta worry about rude drunken jerks. (But keep in mind, we went there on Sunday night…so I betcha it’s louder and there are more people on weekends)

Snugged in their cozy seats with Pretty Friggin Great drinks in my hand and beloved companies - damn - I couldn’t complain! It was one of the best night out, thanks to our lovely PR ladies :D
